The Rosengärtchen, or Rose Garden, today a park with an open-air stage, was once a cemetery (1757-1881). Karl Wilhelm Jerusalem was buried here after his suicide. A memorial stone marks the approximate site of his grave, the exact site of which can no longer be determined. Another small monument is to the memory of Karl Kellner (1826-1855), father of the optics industry in Wetzlar.
